MOON PHASES
Drawing from the quiet strength of Tuscan architectural order, this installation reimagined simplicity through a Khaleeji lens. Where formality meets hospitality, and classical rhythm meets regional warmth.
Nine open majlises were created using 40 unadorned columns, inspired by the Tuscan order’s clean symmetry and sense of proportion. These columns were crowned not by traditional entablatures, but by a reinterpreted “waresh”. The decorative wooden beamwork found in old Emirati homes, here rendered with a twist motif that added a soft movement across the structure.
The result was a space that felt both timeless and present. Structured but welcoming. A balance between cultural memory and architectural restraint, where guests moved through zones that felt intimate, rhythmic, and rooted.
It wasn’t just about form.
It was about redefining how space brings people together.
